Our planet is truly spectacular. From the wild depths of the ocean to firey volcanic ranges, and ice-topped mountains to forests that live and breathe, there’s beauty to be found around every corner. And, some of the most enthralling landscapes are yours to explore – with a full heart, tons of vegan snacks and a backpack!

Here, check out five epic hikes that deserve a place on your vegan outdoor adventure bucket list for 2023.

1: The South West Coastal Path U.K.

Stretching between Minehead and Poole is England’s longest foot trail, the 630-mile South West Coastal Path. This path promises the best of the British coast – from cheerful bobbing boats to undulating hills to never-ending ocean views.

Let your vegan hiking boots carry you all the way over two months, or enjoy short, sweet strolls with plenty of ‘tofish’ and chip breaks.

2: Grand Canyon Rim To Rim Hike

A kaleidoscope of orange hues and multi-layered rock formations await on the 24-mile Rim-to-Rim hike, an awesome way to experience the magic of the Grand Canyon!

You’ll want to split this strenuous hike over two days as you journey into the depths of the canyon and back up again, even if just to spend a night under the swirling mass of stars looking down on you.

3: The Dolomites Italy

Characterised by impossibly blue lakes, zig-zagging peaks, and swooping valleys punctuated only by trees and small towns, the Dolomites are a real thing of beauty. With myriad day hikes and a selection of long-distance trails, the Dolomites invite hikers of varying abilities – with such gorgeous scenery and geological richness that it’ll be tough to ever go home!

4: Te Araroa

Te Araroa, known as the ‘the Long Pathway’, all 1900 miles of this trail promises non-stop adventure and postcard views as you ‘tramp’ the full length of New Zealand.

Immerse yourself in the country’s diverse landscape as you hike mountain-flanked meadows, traverse alpine lakes, and explore sprawling national parks. This four to six-month journey is one of the world’s toughest thru-hikes, but of course, one of the most enrapturing too.

5: Acatenango Volcano Guatemala

Guatemala is a volcano-flanked paradise!

Soul-lifting scenery and OMG moments await as you hike through biodiverse landscapes, with stunning views of Volcán de Fuego and the Pancho Valley stretching out from Acatenango’s summit – almost 4,000 metres in the sky.
