FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Quality: Amazing! The materials, zips and seams are all of an excellent standard, so far so good.
Fit: I’m a UK size 8-10 and ordered a US size 4 and they fitted well but I could have gone down to a size 2 maybe, I found the fit to be generous so with the added stretch I would suggest size down rather than up if you’re on the fence.
Comfort: The first question everyone has about these hiking trousers is whether the pee zipper might cause chafing in sensitive areas. Thankfully, fabric flaps cover the zipper on both the inside and outside. The outer flap keeps the zipper discreet (you wouldn’t even know it’s there at a glance) and blocks cold wind and rain, while the inner flap provides a soft, smooth surface to protect your skin.
I HAVE to mention the stretch, Gnara appears to have cracked the perfect stretch-to-fitted ratio!
Overall comfort hiking in these trousers was great, I didn’t, however, expect the material to be as thick as it was, they were almost too warm for British summer hiking so definitely too hot for the tropics but good for volcano and summit hikes.
The fabric has just the right amount of stretch, allowing you to move freely on steep climbs, scrambles, and descents without feeling restricted.
3: WHO ARE THE GNARA HIKING PANTS FOR?
- Female outdoor enthusiasts: Ideal for hikers, campers, and backpackers needing quick, practical bathroom solutions.
- All-weather adventurers: Perfect for those facing unpredictable weather, with protection from wind, rain, and cold.
- Comfort-driven hikers: Designed for women seeking flexible, durable pants that allow freedom of movement on challenging trails.

4: THE DETAILS
- Drawstring waist: The adjustable drawstring waist is a game-changer! It allows for a perfectly customized fit, whether layering up in colder weather or loosening up on warmer days. No need for a belt, which keeps things lightweight and easy.
- Adjustable cuffs: The adjustable cuffs are perfect for all types of terrain. You can cinch them to keep out dirt and debris or roll them up when crossing streams or dealing with warmer temperatures.
- Five pockets: With five well-placed pockets, these trousers offer plenty of storage without looking bulky, I do personally prefer

5: OVERALL
Alright, let me just say: Gnara hiking trousers have officially revolutionized my hiking game. First off, the pee zipper? Genius. No more awkward crouching behind questionably thin bushes or trying to balance while de-layering half my gear in a hurry, I never thought a zipper would make me feel so free on the trail, but here we are – I’ve got my eye on Gnara’s shorts next!
Overall, the Gnara hiking pants are fantastic for trail comfort and convenience, but they’re definitely an investment. For beginners just getting into hiking, they’re not essential; more affordable options can work just as well when you’re starting out. However, for those planning frequent or longer hikes, they’re worth the splurge down the line.
